Rating Key

What differentiates excellent service from forgettable service? No one is perfect; it's how the imperfections are handled that determines whether customer service is poor, average, good or excellent

From time to time, we list those that make Crystal's Cuts for giving exemplary service. Using restaurants as a general guide, our ratings don't take into account food or product unless noted otherwise. This is primarily about the service, the business etiquette that distinguishes them from other vendors.

CRYSTAL'S CUTS RATING:
From the moment you walk in, an easy greeting in a cool coloful place where though the staff wears black, they don't carry that "we are so tragically hip" snobby attitude that gets old fast. Waiters know the menu and make sensible recommendations, the service flows easily enough to be just the right amount of visibility at the table. Chef came up with a "hot chocolate" dessert that was marvelous--presentation was rather pedestrian but flavors and textures rocked high.

And you gave it four diamonds? I always say presentation is key. You did say the presentation of their dishes was pedestrian. Perhaps if the flavors and textures and atmosphere were so great that would make up for the presentation.

I've only been to that Kimera once, Crystal. Thanks for reminding me to go back...it's been a while and the food rocked.

I may only be in 8th grade, but I have very big plans for my future! I plan to open a restaurant when I am older. I plan to call it Just Desserts. And as you probably have guesses, it will only serve desserts. It isn't exactly going to be a bakery though. But I need a little help. How should I plan oppening it. I am already going to have my friends taste test my recipes, but what else can I do to make sure it could be succsessful enough that it may even start a chain?
